The practice

Make space before deciding what comes next.

Psychological Detox is the project name for a guided wellbeing practice: a deliberate interruption of overstimulation, automatic habits and accumulated emotional noise. It does not promise to remove thoughts or “clean” the mind. It creates conditions for attention, rest and honest reflection.

01

Pause

Reduce incoming noise and step out of the usual pace for a defined period.

02

Breathe

Use accessible conscious breathing to notice rhythm, tension and capacity.

03

Move

Gentle yoga and intuitive movement support presence without performance.

04

Reflect

Silence and writing help identify what feels useful, heavy or ready to change.

“Detox” here means fewer inputs, more attention and a temporary return to what is essential.

Why Ekadashi

Ekadashi is traditionally observed as a recurring day of restraint, devotion and inward attention. Zola's developing format takes inspiration from the rhythm of a conscious pause while keeping participation practical and personal.

Food restriction is not required to take part. Anyone considering fasting should choose an approach appropriate to their health, experience and professional medical advice.

A possible session arc

From noise to a quieter decision.

The exact duration and sequence will be confirmed with Zola. The current concept follows six simple movements.

Arrival01

Name the present state without trying to correct it.

Breath02

Settle into slow, accessible breathing and observe capacity.

Movement03

Mobilise gently, release unnecessary effort and restore circulation.

Stillness04

Let silence become an active part of the practice.

Reflection05

Write or speak about habits, inputs and emotions without judgement.

Return06

Choose one grounded action and re-enter the day gradually.

Care and preparation

The practice adapts to the person.

Important boundary

Ekadashi Psychological Detox is a reflective wellbeing practice. It is not psychotherapy, psychiatric care, medical detoxification or treatment for trauma, addiction or a mental-health condition.

  • Breathing remains gentle and can be stopped or changed at any time.
  • Fasting is optional and is not supervised as a medical intervention.
  • People who are pregnant, under 18, managing diabetes, an eating disorder, medication requirements or another health condition should not fast without qualified medical advice.
  • Anyone in acute distress should seek appropriate professional or emergency support.
